Project Scope

Objectives

To solidify Kiff Koffee’s market position by developing a bold, cohesive, and instantly recognizable brand identity system that captures their energetic, community-focused, and authentically South African ethos. This identity will be translated across all touchpoints—from digital presence to a iconic mobile asset (the tuk-tuk)—to drive brand recognition, customer engagement, and growth.

Deliverables

1. Brand Development & Core Identity:

  • Brand Style Guide: A comprehensive document governing all brand usage.

  • Logo Suite: Primary logo, secondary logo, submarks/icons, and favicon.

  • Colour Palette: Primary and secondary palettes with HEX, RGB, and CMYK values.

  • Typography System: Primary and complementary font families for headings and body copy.

  • Brand Voice & Tone Guidelines: Key messaging, mission/vision refinement, and copy examples.

2. Print & Digital Assets:

  • Menu Design: A visually striking and easy-to-navigate menu for print and digital display.

  • Packaging Design: Cup branding & stickers.

  • Marketing Materials: Loyalty cards, promotional posters/flyers, and business cards.

3. Vehicle Wrapping (Tuk-Tuk):

    • Tuk-Tuk Livery Design: An eye-catching wrap design that transforms the vehicle into a mobile billboard.

    • Print-Ready Files: High-resolution files delivered to a professional sign-writer for production and installation.

Approach

Phase 1: Discovery & Strategy

  • Immersion: Deep dive into the voice of the Kiff Koffee brand, including customer interviews and market positioning analysis.

  • Competitive Audit: Review local and international coffee brands to identify opportunities to stand out.

  • Creative Brief: Finalize a strategic document outlining the brand’s core personality, target audience, and key differentiators.

Phase 2: Brand Identity Development

  • Visual Exploration: Develop mood boards and concept directions that reflect the “kiff” (cool, awesome) feeling—energetic, warm, and community-driven.

  • Logo & Palette Design: Create and refine logo concepts and a colour palette that is vibrant, appetizing, and distinctly South African.

  • Style Guide Assembly: Compile all visual and verbal elements into a master Brand Style Guide to ensure future consistency.

Phase 3: Asset Design & Application

  • Digital-First Design: Create social media templates and digital ads that are optimized for engagement and shareability.

  • Print Design: Apply the new identity to menus and packaging, focusing on durability, readability, and brand impact.

  • Tuk-Tuk Concepting: Design the vehicle wrap to be a bold, 360-degree brand experience. Key considerations:

    • Maximizing Impact: Using high-contrast colours and large-scale graphics for visibility in motion.

    • Key Messaging: Prominently displaying the logo, website, and a core brand message or tagline.

    • Structural Integration: Designing around the tuk-tuk’s unique shape, handles, and doors to create a seamless look.

Phase 4: Rollout & Implementation

  • Asset Handover: Deliver all final, print-ready and web-optimized files.

  • Vendor Coordination: Provide the tuk-tuk design files to a trusted wrapping specialist and oversee a proof of the final print.

  • Launch Strategy: Support the rollout of the new identity across social platforms to generate excitement.
